Exclusive Interview with Danielle Carroll – A Voice for the Kingdom
Presented by WVIU Web Radio
WVIU Web Radio had the pleasure of sitting down with Danielle Carroll, a gifted worshiper with a heart fully devoted to God. With a sound that defies categories and a mission rooted in scripture, Danielle is on a journey to bring people closer to Jesus through her music and testimony. Get to know the woman behind the worship.
WVIU: Danielle, thank you for joining us. To start, who is Danielle Carroll?
Danielle: I am a disciple of Jesus, a daughter of the King. I’m the wife of my Army sweetheart and a mother of a wonderful 7-year-old son. I love God, I love people, and I’m growing in His grace every day.
WVIU: What inspired you to become a Christian gospel artist?
Danielle: The Holy Spirit really impressed on my heart that this is one of the things I was created to do.
WVIU: Tell us about your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. How does it influence your music?
Danielle: My relationship with Jesus bleeds into every area of my life. Music just happens to be one of those areas. It’s been an adventurous journey. I’m still learning and growing in Him. The songs He gives me are just a glimpse of who He is to me and the incredible things He’s done and is still doing in my life.
WVIU: When did you first discover your gift for music, and when did you realize it was your calling?
Danielle: I discovered my gift at an early age, but I didn’t pursue it. Years after coming to the Lord, He brought it back up again. It wasn’t until I became serious about the Lord’s work—especially the Great Commission—that He really began to grow that gift in me.
WVIU: How would you describe your sound and style to someone who has never heard your music?
Danielle: Honestly, I don’t know. I’ve never heard this sound before, so I can’t pinpoint it. I just sing what the Lord gives me.
WVIU: What Bible verse has helped carry you through your music journey?
Danielle: There have been many, but the parable of the talents has helped the most. Music was a talent I wanted to bury because I’m naturally a behind-the-scenes person. But every time I felt like shrinking back, that parable reminded me that my gifts are not about me—they’re for the advancement of God’s Kingdom. I’m called to be a good steward.
WVIU: What’s the mission behind your music ministry?
Danielle: To minister to fellow believers and offer a tool that helps them draw closer to the Lord. I also pray it reaches those who don’t yet know Jesus, so they can come to saving faith.
WVIU: Have you heard any testimonies about how your music has impacted someone?
Danielle: Not yet, but I trust that I’ll hear about it one day. I know God is working through it even when I don’t see the results immediately.
WVIU: You’ve recently released new music. What can listeners expect?
Danielle: It’s definitely an experience. Zephaniah talks about the Lord singing over us, and “Cling to Me” reflects that. It’s the Father reminding us of His love, and that through Jesus, every barrier has been removed—we can draw close and remain in Him. “You’ve Become” and “You Deserve It” speak to allowing Jesus to become everything to us and acknowledging that He deserves our praise regardless of circumstance. “Masterpiece” is a powerful declaration of our new identity in Christ.
WVIU: What challenges have you faced as a rising artist, and how has your faith helped you?
Danielle: I don’t really see myself as an artist—just a disciple of Jesus doing the work He prepared for me. For a moment, I lost sight of that and started seeking approval, but God reminded me that man’s praise is empty. The challenge was thinking I had to figure it all out, but God showed me that He’s the Good Shepherd. He leads me and will show me how to navigate this unfamiliar territory.
WVIU: What advice would you give to young believers called to music ministry?
Danielle: True worshipers will worship in spirit and in truth. It’s not just about singing truth—it’s about living it. Don’t seek approval from man. Live a life that glorifies God. Music is something we do, but we were created to worship. True worship happens when no one is watching. Obedience will always be better than any sacrifice or gift we offer.
WVIU: Who are some of your musical influences?
Danielle: King David, Jonathan Ogden, Kyle Lovett, and Scripture Lullabies.
WVIU: How do you stay spiritually grounded while pursuing your calling?
Danielle: Solomon said it best in Ecclesiastes—it’s all vanity. That reminds me to keep pursuing God’s Kingdom first. This career is just something that’s added. I can rest in the Lord and let Him direct my path.
WVIU: What’s next for Danielle Carroll?
Danielle: I’ll be releasing my next EP in 2026. I’m also considering some live performances, but we’ll see where God leads.
WVIU: How can fans support your music ministry and stay connected?
Danielle: You can follow me on Facebook and YouTube.
WVIU: Danielle, thank you for sharing your heart and your journey with us. We’re excited to see how God continues to use you for His glory.
