WVIU Gospel Music Showcase: Requirements, Guidelines, & Rules

About: WVIU Gospel Music Showcase

The WVIU Gospel Music Showcase, in conjunction with Foundations of Faith Missions International (FOFMI), is our annual celebration of faith, music, and ministry. Held every April, this exciting event features live performances by independent, up-and-coming, and established Christian and Gospel artists. These performances, which are also aired on WVIU Radio, offer a powerful opportunity for artists to minister through song and share the message of hope with their audiences.

The WVIU Gospel Music Showcase is part of our 24/7 Christian internet radio station, where we play a diverse range of genres, including but not limited to traditional gospel, Christian rock, contemporary Christian, rap/hip-hop, pop, country, jazz, and more. Whether you’re a fan of uplifting gospel music or the vibrant energy of Christian rap, this event is a celebration of the many ways music can inspire, heal, and spread the Gospel.

In addition to being a cornerstone of our ministry, the WVIU Gospel Music Showcase is also a key feature of the bi-annual Interfaith University Graduation. This event brings together graduates from Interfaith University and our Gospel music community to celebrate both academic achievements and musical ministry in one powerful gathering.

At its core, the WVIU Gospel Music Showcase is about providing a platform for talented artists who are using their gifts to glorify God and share His love through music. Each year, we bring together a wide range of music that connects people, deepens their faith, and strengthens the spirit of community. Join us every April for this special event and experience the transformative power of music in ministry.

WVIU Gospel Music Showcase – Performance Requirements & Guidelines

Dear Artists and Ministers of the Gospel,

Thank you for your interest in the WVIU Gospel Music Showcase in April! We are honored to provide a platform for those who seek to glorify God through music. Due to the overwhelming number of artists who desire to participate, we ask that you carefully read the following requirements and guidelines before submitting your request to perform.

Selection Process & Ministry Vision

  • Prayer & Discernment: Our team and board members prayerfully consider each artist’s participation, prioritizing the voice of God above all.
  • Limited Performance Slots: Not all artists who apply will have the opportunity to perform. If you are not selected, please do not take it personally. There will be future opportunities.
  • Final Decisions: The final lineup is determined by WVIU Radio and FOFMI, a division of Foundations of Faith Missions International (FOFMI). Decisions are based on character, integrity, your heart for this ministry and vision, Holy Spirit discernment, professionalism, and the direction God provides for the event.
  • Last-Minute Changes: We trust God’s guidance in all things. As a result, changes to the lineup may occur unexpectedly. Your flexibility and understanding are greatly appreciated.

Performance Requirements

  • Song Preparation: Each artist must be prepared to perform two (2) songs, though they may only have time to perform one due to time constraints.
  • Performance Time Limit: Each artist will have approximately 7 minutes on stage (2 songs max).
  • Event Timing:
    • Standard event start time: 10:00 AM CST
    • Artists must arrive one hour before the event begins, meaning 9:00 AM CST arrival time is mandatory.
  • Song Submission:
    • Email MP3 versions of your two songs to wviuradio@gmail.com at least two weeks before the event to ensure smooth audio transitions.
  • Instrumentalists: If you are performing with an instrument, you are responsible for bringing your own. A basic PA system (microphones, speakers, and standard audio equipment) will be provided, but any additional equipment needs must be handled by the artist.

Communication & Contact Information

  • For any questions regarding WVIU Radio or FOFMI events, please email wviuradio@gmail.com or visit our official website at wviuradio.net.
  • While our Station Manager, Dr. Victoria "Tori Tellem" Hoffman, is well-known on social media, we kindly ask that you do not reach out to her directly via Facebook or personal DMs regarding performance slots or event details. Due to her responsibilities in managing WVIU Radio, overseeing over 300 music artists, running multiple businesses (ToriTellem PR Associates, ToriTellemMusic, & Tori Tellem Tours & Performances), and pursuing a double doctorate, she is unable to personally respond to every message.
  • If you need to contact Dr. Tori for business or ministry inquiries specifically related to her personal brand and music, please email toritellemnow@gmail.com.

Final Thoughts

We deeply appreciate each of you and the calling God has placed on your lives. If space permitted, we would have every artist perform at once, but we trust that the Lord orchestrates all things for His glory. We are honored to serve you and provide opportunities to share your gifts with the world.

Thank you for your understanding, patience, and commitment to the Gospel. We love and appreciate you all!

In His Service,
WVIU Radio Team

Rules & Guidelines for the WVIU Gospel Music Showcase:

WVIU Gospel Music Showcase - Rules and Guidelines

Welcome to the WVIU Gospel Music Showcase! We are excited to have you join us for this powerful time of ministry, music, and fellowship. As we gather to celebrate God's love and talent, please take a moment to review the following rules and guidelines to ensure a smooth, safe, and spirit-filled event for all:

  1. Be Prayed Up and Ready to Minister in Song
This is a sacred event where we come together to glorify God through music. Please make sure that you and your team are spiritually prepared. We encourage you to pray and seek God’s guidance as you prepare to minister in song. Your heart of worship is the most important part of your performance.

  2. Proper Registration
All performers and their guests must be properly registered. Links for registration will be sent to you via email. Please ensure that both you and all of your guests complete the registration process before the event. This is essential for security, planning, and ensuring we have the right information for all involved.

  3. No Surprises in Your Performance
If you are performing, please adhere strictly to the guidelines set forth for your performance. Any surprise additions to your performance, including unregistered guests or surprise performers, will not be allowed. All aspects of your performance should be pre-approved and communicated to event organizers ahead of time.
Failure to do so will result in immediate dismissal from the stage and from the event, as well as termination of any future partnership with this ministry.

  4. Godly Christian Moral Values
Everything about your performance, including song choice, lyrics, and actions, must align with Christian values. This is a time to showcase music that glorifies God and upholds the integrity of the Christian faith. If there is any doubt about whether a song or performance is appropriate, please reach out to the organizers for clarification.

  5. Guest Performers and Safety
For security and safety reasons, we ask that you do not bring any surprise performers or guests on stage without prior approval from the event organizers. This policy is in place to ensure a safe and well-organized event for everyone involved. If you or your guests bring an unapproved performer to the stage, you will be asked to leave the event immediately.

  6. Show Love, Grace, and Kindness
We encourage all participants to foster an atmosphere of love, grace, and kindness. This is a time to fellowship and network in Christ. Let’s build one another up, celebrate each other's talents, and encourage each other in the faith. We are all here to glorify God and support one another in ministry.

Thank you for your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines. Let’s make this year’s WVIU Gospel Music Showcase an event that brings glory to God, uplifts the community, and celebrates the incredible talents of His people.
